One of the cleverest observations I have heard about a future of intelligent robots is that “.. if we are lucky, they will treat us as pets, and if we are very unlucky, they will treat us as food.” I am nearly certain that credit for this goes to author and future-gazer Bruce Sterling, but I have yet to locate the exact cite, and thus I am certain that I don't have the quote down correctly. If only I had an AI to help me look for it...
